Data Deletion Instructions

How to request that we delete your personal data from We Recommend.

Overview

We Recommend stores personal information when you create an account, sign in with a third-party provider (such as Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram), connect external accounts, or use our services. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

We process verified deletion requests within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. For more detail on what we collect and how we use it, see our Privacy Policy.

Option 1 — Delete from your account (recommended)

If you can sign in to We Recommend:

  1. Go to Settings → Your Data.
  2. Review the data we store in your inventory and export tabs if you want a copy first.
  3. Click Request data deletion below (you must be signed in).
  4. Confirm the request. We will email you if we need additional verification.

To disconnect a linked Facebook or other social account without deleting your full account, go to Settings → Linked external accounts and revoke access for that provider.

Option 2 — Request by email or contact form

If you cannot sign in, or you removed our app from Facebook or another provider and want your data deleted:

  1. Send a message through our Contact page with the subject Data deletion request.
  2. Include the email address associated with your We Recommend account, or the Facebook account email if you signed in with Facebook.
  3. Describe what you want deleted (full account erasure, or removal of data from a specific connected provider).

We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before processing the request.

Facebook and connected apps

If you previously authorized We Recommend through Facebook Login, removing the app in your Facebook settings stops future access but does not automatically delete data we already stored. Use Option 1 or Option 2 above to request erasure of that data.

After we process your request, we delete or anonymize profile information, preferences, recommendations, connected-account tokens, activity logs, and other personal data tied to your account, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

What happens next

  • Confirmation: Signed-in requests are recorded immediately; contact-form requests are acknowledged by email.
  • Processing: We complete deletion within 30 days.
  • Status: Signed-in members can view request status under Settings → Your Data.
